Lucy VM Goodwin

Deep-sea Ecologist and Marine Biologist

I am a marine biologist who specialises in deep-sea ecology. My current research focusses on abyssal plain (4000-6000m deep) foodwebs, primarily looking at megafauna - the animals that can be clearly seen by the naked eye.

Biography

I am currently in the 3rd year of my PhD at the University of Liverpool. As a researcher, I am deeply committed to marine biology research and aim to contribute to the conservation of our global oceans. With a focus on understanding the intricate relationships between deep-sea animals and their environment, my work aims to identify the impacts of environmental change on these organisms via their variations in feeding niche. My further research interests include community dynamics within deep-sea environments, and  the adaptations which allow animals to thrive within these communities.
